hEy! We're johanna and joyce!
We are sisters born and raised in SoCal, from the 626 area. As full-time students, Johanna (right) and Joyce (left) find that their passion lies in serving and loving the underrepresented in their communities.
Our Story
God's grace led us here. The Affirmed by Grace story began in the Summer of 2020. That summer we opened up to friends and family about doing what feels right despite obstacles that tell us to do otherwise. It turned out that others shared the same desire to be courageous, too.

Long story short, it began to spark with the regular trips to Chinatown/Downtown for the usual take-outs on Sundays. All around the streets, turning our heads left and right was the prominent evidence of homelessness. We felt the urge to do something, something as little as providing food and water. Weeks later after being established, we started going regularly to the Chinatown/Downtown area to feed the homeless - now we are serving 2 times a week with about 60 people each day.
As changing seasons began to approach we acknowledged the difficulty the homeless would have to endure, especially during the winter. We immediately thought of asking for clothing donations consisting of clothes, blankets, jackets, socks- anything to help them survive the chilly and windy days ahead. God has blessed us with our friends, neighbors, and family who can support this ministry - and here we are now!
Our passion lies in helping others to the best of our ability, with the help of You, of course! We want to be that glimmer of grace, hope, love, and compassion to those in despair and misery, the homeless.
